Memorial Slants

Slants are usually about 16 inches high at the back. They get their name from the fact that the front surface slants at a 45 degree angle, making the memorial easy to read because the engraving is angled towards a visitor’s line of sight. This is also an excellent option for those who want the visibility of an upright monument from the road, but at a lower price point.

Slant Sizing

The overall size of a memorial is limited only by budget and the rules and regulations of the cemetery. Memorials also cannot be larger than the burial space; a standard burial space is 4 feet wide and a two-grave lot is typically 8 feet wide.

For individual slant memorials, the most common and standard size is 24” L x 10” W x 16”H but can be made larger or smaller.

For companion slant memorials, the most common and standard size is 36” L x 10” W x 16” H. Companion memorials can range in size more broadly than individual memorials and lend themselves to creative use of the burial space.
